How to play

Aces and Eights is a variation of draw poker. It offers well-favored payouts for all hands. You get special payouts for 4 Aces or Eights.

On the right hand corner of the game screen, you will find $5, $25 and $100 chips. Click on any to credit your account with that amount of money. Once your account is credited, you can adjust your bet by clicking on the arrows next to the $1 sign in the right hand bar. By default, the computer takes the bet as $1. You can bet 5¢, 25¢, 50¢, $1 and $5.

After selecting your betting denomination, click on the ‘Bet One’ button to place your bet. Use the ‘Bet Max’ option to place the maximum bet. The maximum you can bet in one draw is five coins.

After clicking the ‘Bet One’ option, click on the ‘Draw Deal’ button. You will be dealt five cards from the deck. Study your cards and aim to get a poker hand. Click on the cards that you want to retain. Those cards will be marked ‘Hold’. Press ‘Draw Deal’ again to discard the other cards and be dealt new ones.

You win if you are able to get any of the Poker hands. The list of winning hands and their payouts on each bet can be seen on your game screen. Aces and Eights offer special payouts for four-of-a-kind Aces, 8’s, and 7’s

Aces and Eights online Video Poker game has no speed deal or wild cards.

Double or Nothing

If you win a game, you are taken to the ‘Double or Nothing’ bonus round where you get a chance of doubling your winning or losing it altogether. You will be dealt five cards. The first card, the Dealer’s card is face up. The rest are face down. Pick the card that you think is higher than the dealer’s card. If you win, you are taken to the next ‘Double or Nothing’ bonus round. If you lose, you lose your winnings and are taken back to the game screen.

Multi-hand Game

This game is a multi hand game. You can choose to play 1 Hand, 3 Hands, 10 Hands, 52 Hands or 100 Hands. Playing more hands increases your odds of winning. You can even win multiple poker hands in the multi hand game. However, the flip side is that your bet amount also increases with the number of hands you choose to play. For example, if you are playing a 10 hand game, with a $1 bet, your total bet will automatically be $10. If you lose the hand, you will lose the entire amount.

Strategy

Play Aces and Eights to enjoy special payouts for Four-of-a-Kind Aces, Eights and Sevens. Double your prizes by playing the Double or Nothing Bonus Round by choosing a higher card than the dealer’s. The strategy to maximize your odds of winning is to hold the cards that can coordinate with other cards to form winning Poker hands. You can follow the points explained below to form your strategy.

When the cards are dealt and a pair of Aces appear, hold the pair. It can combine with another pair of Aces to form the winning hand of Four Aces or it can combine with another pair of cards to build the winning hand of Two Pair.

After the cards are dealt and if a pair of eight appears then hold the pair. The pair of eights with another pair of eights can build a winning hand of four eights. Moreover, you have the chance of building a winning Poker hand of Two Pair with any other pair.

In order to enjoy the benefit of higher payouts, play with maximum credits. You can choose to play with the Max Bet option to walk away with an amount, as high as 4000 coins on the Royal Flush (Ten, Jack, Queen, King and Ace).

Double your winnings by playing the Double or Nothing Bonus rounds that trigger after every winning hand. You have to just select a higher card than the dealer’s, out of the four down cards.

The game of Aces and Eights is a multi-hand game with one hand, three hands, ten hands, 52 hands and 100 hands. Play multi-hands to increase your odds of winning.

When the cards are dealt and if a Jack appears then hold it. Jacks or Better is a winning hand in Aces and Eights.

Tips

The trick of the game is to know when to go for the special hand. Aces and Eights offer special payouts for four-of-a-kind Aces, 8’s, and 7’s but only break up a winning hand if you have 4 cards to a Royal Flush.

Carefully hold on to the cards that you think would make up for a winning hand. So basically if you make as low as one pair or Jacks or anything better simply hold what guarantees you a payout.

You are lucky if you get a paying hand in your initial deal. So stick to those hands and discard the rest. You might just get luckier with the next deal. Below is a simple table that lists cards you should hold in a hand.
